A week of migration cleanup, done in a day
A migration left an enterprise client with corrupted folders. I scripted the fix, and the rest of the team used it too.

The problem
After an application migration at an enterprise client, a large number of folders and subfolders came through corrupted. Fixing them meant running queries and repairing them one at a time. My share alone would have taken more than five hours by hand.
What I did
I wrote a PowerShell script that ran the queries and repaired the folders for me. Once it worked on my share, I gave it to the rest of the team for theirs.
Result
Around a week of the team’s work was done in a day.
Why it’s here
Most of my five years in enterprise support looked like this. A client in energy, FMCG, chemicals or petroleum has a problem, someone is waiting on the fix, and the fastest way through is usually to automate the boring part.
